“TeenPact strives to create a purposeful environment which allows young people to practice and develop their skills, personalities, styles, beliefs, and callings. Being able to grow alongside people who were also committed to this kind of learning truly shaped me. Because of this, many friendships were forged through intensity and a fondness that stands the test of time. I'm grateful for this environment at a crucial time in my life.”
Originally hailing from the beautiful Commonwealth of Virginia, Lydia Shanks now calls the land of sweet southern hospitality – Peachtree City, Georgia – home. As she describes herself, Lydia was an over-confident student with a terrible haircut who attended the inaugural Virginia State Class led by Tim Echols in 1998. The excellence and godly servant leadership she saw exhibited by the staff team had a huge impact on her life, especially when she realized they were her age. Lydia’s joy and love for life overflows to everything and everyone around her. She’s happiest when she’s creating memories through good conversations, inspiring spaces, and delicious food. In all she does, Lydia brings a love for people and a passion for excellence as she empowers and encourages others.
